Healthy Baked Oats

  • This is one of my favourite recipes, because it really is like having cake for breakfast, plus its so easy to do!
  • If you like your baked oats with a little extra crunch, try adding nuts or seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Egg
  • 1Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1Tbsp Peanut Butter. If you want to make this peanut butter banana bread oatmeal, omit the peanut butter and add 1/2 cup of quick oats!
  • Baking Powder (1 TBSP) Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Quick Oats: Quick oats are smaller than regular rolled oats. You can use either for this recipe!

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
  • Blend all ingredients together
  • Pour into an ovenproof dish or bowl then scatter over chocolate chips if desired before popping into the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown on top – don’t forget to check after 10 minutes just in case!

Optional: dates, cacao powder, chia seeds, flaxseeds etc. can all be added to the mix.
