Introduction
Once upon a time I wanted to be shredded. But I have discovered a few things along the way to my journey of shreddedness:
The amount of carbs in the foods I love is usually ridiculous.
You may have heard about the low-carb diet craze, but if you’re anything like me, it’s hard to give up carbs. After all, they are a basic part of most foods we love to eat—and they’re essential for our bodies. Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy and can be found in grains and other starchy foods such as breads and cereals; fruits; vegetables (potatoes and corn); dairy products such as milk and yogurt; sugars including honey and maple syrup; beans and legumes (dry peas); seeds such as sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. The amount of carbs in your diet depends on your activity level: The more active you are—for example by working out at the gym often—the more carbs you’ll need compared with someone who doesn’t exercise much at all. You’ll also need to pay attention to how many grams each serving contains: A standard serving size of pasta is around ¾ cup cooked pasta (but keep in mind that carbohydrates vary depending on what type of starch is used).
I don’t want to live a life where I can’t eat 90% of the food I enjoy.

It’s tempting to think that eating only the healthiest foods will give you an instant shredded physique. But when you consider that these diets often eliminate entire food groups and make it hard to find replacements for your favorite foods, it becomes clear that this can’t be true.
Simply put: if your goal is to get shredded, you’ll need to live a life where you can’t eat 90% of the things that make you happy! You’ll end up miserable and unhappy—and probably look like crap too (at best).
I don’t think “Shredded” is as cool as everyone else does.
I don’t think being shredded is a cool word. Or rather, I don’t think it’s worth all the work and sacrifice needed in order to have a six pack.
Let me explain: there is nothing wrong with having abs or wanting to be shredded (if you’re into that), but I personally do not care about having a six pack. My primary objective is overall health and wellness, not losing weight in order to look good on the beach.
I hate going places without food.
I hate going places without food. When I go to the movies, or the train, or the car…I like to have a snack. It makes me feel better about my situation in life. It’s not that I don’t want to lose weight—I do! I just want to do it on MY OWN TERMS.
Now that that is out of the way, please pass me another slice of pizza!

I love food. I always have and I always will. It’s the one thing in life that can bring me happiness and joy, even when things are bad. Food is my favorite thing to do with my friends, it’s a huge part of my culture, it’s something we all share on this planet together (well, if you’re not vegan).
I want to look good and feel good so that I can be happy with myself every day. But eating healthy doesn’t mean starving yourself or giving up your favorite foods forever! It just means making small changes in your diet over time until they become part of who you are and how you eat instead of being a diet.
The truth is: Eating a lot of junk food makes us feel sluggish and tired because our bodies aren’t getting any nutrients from those foods so they turn into fat instead! We also gain weight faster than possible because we’re not getting enough protein which helps burn calories naturally through muscle building activities like lifting weights (or just walking around). Plus eating too much sugar leads directly into Type II Diabetes which is also very dangerous for your health if left untreated for long periods of time due to complications from organ failure at worst case scenario – death at best case scenario – life threatening organ failure requiring surgery followed by lifelong medication management treatment plan.. The point being: You don’t want diabetes unless there’s nothing else going on in life except watching Netflix all day long?! Duhhh
Conclusion
So there you have it. I don’t want to be shredded, but I do want to eat pizza.
